Pedigree

A third dog? A second Afghan Hound?

When Rasmus turned four I was starting to feel ready for another Afghan Hound. In fact, I couldn't wait to live through all the stages of the afghan coat with another hound. But Noki was not even 1-year old yet so another dog at that stage was not an option for me. I thought I resolved my longing when I got myself Myy, who I co-own with a friend and who lives with her, but the more I got to see Myy and her littermates, the more my fever for an new Afghan Hound rose.

In the summer there suddenly was a litter born, which seem to have all that I've dreamt. The parents were interesting and I liked their appearance, their pedigree was something more than just the mainstream and included several dogs I had admired for years. There was also many relatives of the dam who had been quite succesfull at coursing field, which is important for me. And the litter included even a few blue-brindle males, blue-brindle being one of my favorite Afghan Hound colors.

After asking the breeder plenty of questions concerning the puppies and their relatives I had a long and thorough discussions with my boyfriend whom I live with, he agreed we could get another dog with two conditions: He wanted "a joint custody" with me and he also wanted to decide the call name for the puppy. I ofcourse eagerly agreed to his terms and so we travelled to see the puppy I had officially reserved! And it sure was love at first sight, the little creature was adorable, not just terribly cute, but very open and energetic little rascal. There was no question about whether he would come with us to his new home or not.

Although the first time in the car was a little exciting for our new pack member, he arrived to his new home as he would always lived there. Tail confidently up he explored the rooms and found also toys to play with. The next day he was introduced to my other dogs, and although it was also a bit exciting at first, he soon found they were actually potential friends! Noki felt the same and they become playmates from the first day dispite their size difference. Rasmus was first eager to meet the puppy, but then remembered that oh, he is a PUPPY and I'm not supposed to like puppies because I am an ADULT, and so he keeps his distance.

chocobo & roby

After few days my boyfriend then came up with the perfect name for him and since then we have been calling this adorable little gremlin by the name Chocobo.

Chocobo is both a little rascal, who is very clever and fast to notice things - like the remote control which you a second ago left on the table while watching the tv.. Another second and he has quietly snatched it! He also managd to steal my cellular phone and dig out the sim-card without actually harming the phone itself - the sim-card however was broken and useless.  But then on the other hand Chocobo can be quite a little philosopher too. When on a walk he tends to stop and just observe the neighborhood keenly, standing there like a statue, and it would take minutes if I wouldn't finally tell him we must proceed our walk.

Chocobohead

Chocobo loves people and children and seems to wave his tail almost always, especially when excited or pleased. He is very adorable creature and we will hope that the future brings him all the best!
