1st - 2nd of August 2008 We attended the SawoShow, a three day event with separate International dogshows held each day at Kuopio, just 75km from our home. At friday Rasmus was shown under the judge George Kostopoulos from Greece. He was third among Open Class males with assesment VG. Noki was shown under finnish saluki breeder-judge Saija Juutilainen and got assesment G bevause he is still to develop and mature. But he got also lots of compliments too and the judge was very nice, so we came out of the ring smiling. At saturday it was Chocobo's turn to enter the ring. The judge on this day was australian Darren Bowey. He liked Chocobo, gave him very nice assesment with EXC. He was placed third among the Junior Class males and got to enter the Best Male-ring also, but wasn't placed. He actually would have liked more to go and ask the other afghan hounds in the ring to play with him instead of gracefully trotting and standing still - But I'm just glad he seemed to have fun once again! So we had a very nice show weekend, although the weather on friday could have been a bit better ;) 17th of July 2008 Our little rascal Chocobo turned one year old! We want to send lots of love and affie kisses to his siblings: Ludde, Jedi, Frank, Leevi, Molly and Lisse! 28th - 29th of June This weekend we attended two shows in Mustiala, Tammela. They were part of the venues that were held there during the Saluki Congress week. I had Chocobo and Noki with me and we spent the two nights at Nokis breeders, Micaelas, place. Also Myy attended the show on saturday, and I got to see the siblings of all of them. The saturday we spent beside the afghan hound ring. The judge Christina Roseen-Lundström liked the Hienohelman Z-litter and gave assesment EXC to Myy, Molly, Seppo and Nemo and Jesse got VG also. They also go placements in their own classes and Molly actually won her class and became BB-4! Congratulations to Molly and Helena! Chocobo and his siblings were still quite babyish among the older juniors, but they all got VG with nice assesments still. The next day it was Noki's turn to enter the ring in SSaK's unofficial Saluki Show. The weather wasn't on our side - it rained pouringly for the first 4 hours of the show. You can imagine what all of those 170 salukis entered thought about when they were dragged to the ring in that weather! Noki attended the ope class, best smooth and best desert-bred classes, but this time there was no success, we got just a nice assesment and that's all this time. But the Larelinan tent where we also resided had quite nice success! The participants of Larelinan first litter, Otto, Windie, Jameel and Uni all had nice assesments and Uni even got invitations to the best head and to the best movement classes too and finally was placed in her own junior class in the third place. The dam of the litter did even better - she was first of the Working class bitches and finally the BOS- working class saluki in the show! Warm congratulations to Laura Elina as the breeder, Veera, Uni and Uzu! Also Helena, the owner of Myy's dam Mira and sister Molly, had nice success with her salukis - Hawiwah and Mocca were third in the best pair competition and Helena was fourth in the Senior handler! Congratulations for her too! 7th of June Chocobo and Myy attended the SA-FA afghan hound specialty held at Helsinki Tuomarinkartano. The day was beautiful and sunny and we had wonderful time.
You can look at some more pictures I took at http://www.romytar.com/SA-FA/index.html At the same time Myy's brother Roope was BM-2 with CAC at the Pieksämäki Show! Congraulations Henna and Roope, well done! 25th of May Rasmus went to lurecoursing competition held at Kalvitsa, Mikkeli. We had a wonderful day together as juniors stayed home this time with my boyfriend looking over them. Rasmus gained enough points from the first round and participated also in the finals. He landed on the 12th placement on the results.
19th of April Chocobo attended his first official show in Jyväskylä. Myy was also there participating with Laura Elina. Choco had evaluation EH with nice review, Myy had EXC and was second in her class. Quite a nice day again! 16th of April Rasmus and Chocobo had their eyes tested today and I happily announcem that both had healthy and clear eyes! 30th of March Sari Laakso's A-litter had their puppy-meeting today at Tampere. We had wonderful time chatting and learning more about handling and taking care of our puppies. It was nice to see all of the other owners too, and Laura Elina also came to visit us with Myy and Bambi. In the picture from left to right: breeder Sari with Frank, then Ludde, Molly, Leevi, me with Chocobo and Laura Elina handling Jedi.
2nd of March Today were held two shows: At Helsinki Kaapelitehdas was a Puppy Show and at Kaarina was held an international Show. Chocobo made his debut to the ring at Helsinki. He won the class for older puppies and got a good review although he didn't like the floor of the hall and didn't want to move as well as he can. Her sister Molly attended also and she took the jackpot by first winning the bitches class and then being BOB-puppy! Congratulations Molly! At the same time our Myy was at the Kaarina Show. She was placed fourth in the junior class with evaluation VG. The judge was quite strick and didn't give many EXC evaluations for the dogs in junior class. Once again I want to thank you Laura Elina for showing and taking such a good care of Myy! ![]() 7th of February 2008 Myy went to the vet to get her eyes checked for the first time. Results were fine: she is clear of hereditary eyediseases and has perfectly healthy eyes! 27th of January 2008 Myy entered the showrings again at the Turku International show today and now for the first time in the Junior Class. She did fine, received an Excellent and was third in her class. Good job, Laura-Elina and Myy! 12th of January 2008 Chocobo attended show ring rehearsals for the first time of his life. We travelled together with Lutu-saluki and his owner to Kuopio for this. It went fine and we had fun seeing friends and other dogs. After rehearsal we went also to a local dogpark and the dogs got to run freely for a while. Thanks for everyone for the nice day we had!
